This is a commercial of United Arab Emirates (UAE) Tourism for the Shanghai 2010 Expo. This is the one about Abu Dhabi deserts. This video contains lots of beautiful views, such as seaside, forest, and desert. Besides, we can see many connections between human beings and animals. What do you think these connections try to express? Why smiling lens appear so many times in this video?  There is no narration in this video. Do you think it should be made with narration or not? After you watch the video, is United Arab Emirates appealing to you, and why?

This political cartoon, entitled "Globalization is Killing the Globe," illustrates a specific view of globalization. This image was used to illustrate a news article about global economics. Why are everyday products being portrayed in a violent scene? Why use classic Disney character as soldiers? Is there a significance to the products being shown? Why use this setting as opposed to something modern or familiar? Why do the natives look terrified when they are presented with products that we view as beneficial?

This is an ad for Jordan Brand, and is narrated by Michael Jordan. It shows audience that people only see Jordan's tremendous success, but don't realize his painstaking to attain his goal in NBA. The video contains scenes of statues, trophies, and milestones that Jordan achieved over the course of his career. Also presented are old basketball courts, weight rooms, a work out schedule, and a college dorm room. Why are these two elements presented when they are so opposite? At the end of the video Jordan is lecturing a group of teens, why is he doing this? What themes are presented as the contrasting scenes are shown? What excuses are Jordan talking about? How does this ad try to convince customers to buy Michael Jordan brand shoes?

What do you believe to be the significance of these and other main themes throughout the video? Discuss how they contribute to the overall impact of the video on the audience.
